I know some one who is setting up this coffee house type thing for kids near her, just to give them something to do, she lives in nowheresville Illinois.
She needs some russian music, does anyone know of any good bands? It's kind of with her church, but she wants secular music. Nothing to "hard-core" in her words. Please no taty puhleese! thanks

Secular? It's not Zemfira then, I'm afraid Maybe she'll like "Самоцветы" or "Песняры" stuff?

Is that the same website that leads you to some place where you have to end up paying for each song? MasterAdmin should make it a cussword like he did eDonkey and Kazaa....

BTW, why does she want Russian music? Does she expect mainly Russian kids to hang around there?

For those who are not sure if they are ready to listen Russian songs, I recommend the band 'Baba Yaga' ("Баба Яга", a famous Russian fairytale character). They sing a well known songs in English (not very bad, unlike most Russian pop singers), but mixing them with Russian traditional songs.

    This album, for example.

It's going to have different cultures represented in different areas. She has games unique to alot of different countries and their music to go along. I'm not exactly sure how it's going to work out, but she asked me to find some russain bands for the "russian area".

Strictly speaking, "Песняры" is a Bielorussian group. It used to rock back in seventies, but now it is just a pale imitation of the old greatness, IMHO.
