By the way does anyone know of any stress rules for Russian surnames on the Internet (or anywhere else, come to that)?

Many thanks,
Far more common way is Малашенко, Григоренко (Did you ever hear about Ukrainian politican Yulia Timoshenko for example? ) Btw, the surnames that ends on -ко are Ukrainian, not Russian.
