    Ruzanna

I met a woman from Kiev today and her name was "Ruzanna". Don't blame me, that's the way she spelled it

Anyway, what is the Russian equivalent for this name?
Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

Not every Ukrainian name has a Russian equivalent you know.

Well, I've seen this name used in Russia twice.

    No :P

A friend of a friend in Moscow, and a woman in Tatarstan, to be exact.

TATY my elder brother's co-worker has that name and she is Рузанна - and nothig more. Her name does not change neither its spelling nor its sound.
    Я так думаю.

Рузанна - Armenian name. do not confuse with Рузан (also Armenian name)

    Some versions from Internet:
Рузанна произошло от древнеармянского города Русин. Русине-Расан-Рузанна.
From the name of old armenian town Rusin (Rusin-Rasan-ruzanna)

на персидском означает: дневное время, что-то светлое
Persian: a daytime; something light, bright

I think it is possible tha name of town was from Persian word.

So Russian equvalent possible is Светлана (Svetlana)
