Middle name thingy?
Patronymic?
А если отнять еще одну?
No, I don't think you can use it as a patroynmic. The name sounds Slavic but not really Russian-Russian, if you know what I mean.
And yes, joysof, please do take your shoes off when you enter my house. I remember when I was younger I was appaled that all my American friends walked around the house with their shoes on. Aren't you guys afraid of making the carpet dirty? Do Russians not take off their shoes when they walk into the house too?
I know what you mean - my two roommates (as sweet as they are in all other ways) refuse to remove their shoes until they've walked all over the apartment and got mud and slush and sludge and grime all over the place. Our carpet is a mess! My mom never ever let me wear shoes inside, but I guess their parents were more relaxed about it.
You can imagine how releived I am to go to a house where they don't wear shoes inside. Just feels better for some reason.
But that has nothing to do with Russian names....I'm sorry.
Yay! I broke 200 posts!
all the russian people i know take off their shoes right when they enter the house, my mom is really crazy about that stuff, lol I don't know about the name though...

It depends on the russian weather. The springs and the falls in Russia are very long and mud seasons with rains and snow. It's impossible to keep your shoes clear in the street. You cannot just imagine how much mud one person can bring on his shoes to the house.Originally Posted by NYgirl3

About the whole name thing, I pretty much figure from what I've been told, unless you have one since birth its awkward.
Now about the floors, I wouldn't want some people to take their shoes of at my house their feet stank! Besides we have hard wood floors everywhere but the bathrooms, kitchen (tile) and bedrooms (carpet). But who walks around their bedroom in shoes? Its just never come up with me.
Russians have splendid slipper-y things called тапочки. Also, I tend to find that their shoes are generally so clean that they put me and my mud-drenched Docs to shame. They won't tell me how they do it. Perhaps I should invest in some polish. And yes, joysof, please do take your shoes off when you enter my house. oh, and by the way, what does shoes, and mud, and people who are rude and "won't take off their shoes" have to do with the name Lasichak??
and yes!! it is a really russian name!! My family was Cossack!!!!
Oh, you shouldn't have said that, now I can already hear VendingMachine and bad manners on their way over to explain that Cossacks are not Russians
Have you ever heard of crazy Russian parents to give their children more then 3 names? LOL. I'm the prime case for that. 8. Shame...I almost failed 1st grade!
Do you fuck as well as you dance?
Better, after all I am a professional. Dancer, that is.
I love you Sasha.
