Does the Russian name "OLEG" look and sound ridiculous for Americans?
(I mean..... just compare: O`Connor -- O`Leg)
(Actually it`s an aincient Scandinavian name. But now it`s used only in Russia.)

Bright Moments!... (c)
No. Not at all. Or at least not any more "ridiculous" than Sergey or Arkady. It's obviously a foreign name, but I wouldn't say it was viewed as absurd/comical, as you might think. And I think only a drunk guy in a bar would come up with anything as stupid as O'Leg! Or maybe a writer for a second-rate sitcom...

Bright Moments!... (c)
Yeah, don't worry about it at all. Nothing that odd. We hear TONS of foreign/strange names. And actually, your name is only 4 letters, so it'll be a relief to some people -- as opposed to say, Sviatoslav... Believe it or not, I heard a guy on the radio saying he met two brothers: they were named Lemonjello and Orangejello!Originally Posted by Mariakhin
