    Is Nikita really a male name in Russia?
    I thought I'll just ask... I won't belive it.Besides it has -a at the end.This means the word is female... Should mean...

    Yes, it is an old male name. And it is stressed on the second syllable. Not all words ending with “a” are feminine. This is especially valid for names.

    Yes it is, you didn't think Krushchev was a woman did you?

    It's not the only Russian male name ending in -a either, there are others. фома, for example.

    As Tu-160 pointed out, the stress falls on the second syllable, that is ni-KEET-ah. The vocative would be ni-KEET.

    I guess this would be a good place to ask--how do you spell Nikita in Russian? Is it Никита? I just wanted to be sure.

    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

    Those names do not count, because the way you put them, they are уменьшительные, ласкательные forms. The original names of those you mentioned, do not end with A
