    Motorcycle ownership

What if I want to have a motorcycle while in Russia so as not to be limited only to areas where there is public transportation. Basically, get there and buy a cheap used motorcycle, then sell it before leaving.

What is needed? Is a Canadian driver's licence good enough? Do I need insurance? What is the registration process like?

It would be ok, nothing special.

Actually, where is no public transportation in Russia only in wildlife areas. I guess it is not reasonable to go there along, without any experienced guides.

You'll spend a lot of time to buy a motorcycle becouse they are not popular in Russia. What is the reason to have a motorcycle if you can use it only a couple or three months a year? Though the Russian used motorcycles are really cheap - the used motorcycles like this or like this costs about $200-$300 in my region.
    What is needed?
    1. Money
    2. Time and knowledge of Russian language to find advertisements in newspapers about selling a used bike.
    3. Time and patience to register it. Speaking frankly the procedure is not so hard it takes about a day.
    4. Time to unregister it - as I sad it takes about a day
    5. Time to sell it.
Is a Canadian driver's licence good enough?
It depends on what the licence you've got. If you have a licence for motorcycles it is ok. If you have licence for cars only (I dont know maybe there in Canada you can drive everything can move using only one licence) you will have troubles.
    Do I need insurance?
    Definitely you need.
What is the registration process like?
Go to the local GAI (GosAvtoInspektsiya - State Auto Inspection) and do what they say. It takes about a day.

I love the shopping and entertainment but the crowds and prices are getting worse than Beverly Hills. So we found a great community only 40-60 minutes away from Moscow. We will live in peace and clean ecology but still be close enough to get our city fix and visit friends and relatives.

Dmitrov is very nice and comfortable town. This is the place of my childhood, I have there my relatives and every year I had holidays
there with parents. Unfortunatly it is a bit far from Moscow where I work, 1,5 hour in one direction.

My husband said there is a downhill ski area there and a sports complex with an ice skating rink. Was Dmitrov area used for the winter Olympics?
