What if I want to have a motorcycle while in Russia so as not to be limited only to areas where there is public transportation. Basically, get there and buy a cheap used motorcycle, then sell it before leaving.
What is needed? Is a Canadian driver's licence good enough? Do I need insurance? What is the registration process like?

You'll spend a lot of time to buy a motorcycle becouse they are not popular in Russia. What is the reason to have a motorcycle if you can use it only a couple or three months a year? Though the Russian used motorcycles are really cheap - the used motorcycles like this or like this costs about $200-$300 in my region.Quote:

3. Time and patience to register it. :) Speaking frankly the procedure is not so hard it takes about a day.
4. Time to unregister it - as I sad it takes about a day

It depends on what the licence you've got. If you have a licence for motorcycles it is ok. If you have licence for cars only (I dont know maybe there in Canada you can drive everything can move using only one licence) you will have troubles.Quote:

It costs 7 roubles in my town. :)

there with parents. Unfortunatly it is a bit far from Moscow where I work, 1,5 hour in one direction.
My husband said there is a downhill ski area there and a sports complex with an ice skating rink. Was Dmitrov area used for the winter Olympics?
