Thread: How to get from Sheremetyevo to Domodedovo?

What is the best way to get from Sheremetyevo to Domodedovo and how long is that going to take? My flight arrives at 1:30pm on a Monday and of course I will have to go through customs and gather luggage and then check in again once I'm at Domodedovo. Is there any chance I could make a 5:00pm flight? Will I make an 8:00pm flight?

provided your flight lands exactly 13:30 (which may be not the case, and it also depends on terminal number), and if it takes 1 hour to go through customs and gather luggage (which is possible, but chances are very random, a delay is possible), it's possible to take a 14:30 aeroexpress train to Belorusskaya (arrives 15-05), then metro train to Paveletski station (20 min), then 15:30 aeroexpress train to Domodedovo arriving 16-16 and you already miss the flight registration.

The same route is OK for 8:00 pm.

Note that the time Alex mentioned (20min on metro) is for a person who is familiar with Moscow metro. If you get there for the first time you can easily pick wrong direction and spend much more time. This trip on car could be a bit faster only at 0:00-5:00am. Otherwise you could spend hours in traffic jams. Also remember to NEVER (EVER!!!) take a taxi at Moscow airports and railway stations: the prices (especially for foreigners) are insane (like $500 for a 15 min trip). This is called "такси недорого".

Thank you very much. You have both helped a lot. I am not at all familiar with the trains in Moscow. Does the Aeroexpress go directly to the metro station? Or is this a walk to another place? Also my return flight from Sheremetyevo leaves at 9:45 am. Do these trains also run at night?
