Finding a travel iron in Odessa.....!

My travelling iron broke and I need to buy a new one.
A travelling iron is an iron that is small and lightweight, suitable for carrying in a suitcase when travelling. Incredibly useful when travelling

I wasn't able to find one in Romania, or in Moldova. I really want to get a new one. They are usually available in Western Europe at large department stores, specialist whitewear / home electronics / travelling shop. In Romania, I just couldn't find it despite spending 2-3 hours looking.

I am really hoping that I can find one in Odessa.

How would you say travelling iron in Russian, and where do you think I might find one?
Perhaps I can even buy one at an online Ukrainian shop, and have it delivered somewhere.
But it's probably easier just to go to a shop and buy.

I whould say "небольшой утюг для путешествий" или "мини-утюг"
I've never been to Odessa but you should look for a household shop like "Foxthrot" (Магазин бытовой техники Фокстрот) Or АБВ-Техника. Internet gave me an adress: Ул.Краснова 12 (12-Krasnova str.)

As ВарраВа said we call it "Дорожный утюг".
Using "Yandex market" service and pointing region name with "Одесса". I've found the following link "Philips GC 651 – Утюги – Яндекс.Маркет".
If the link is not working it says that you can find the Philips GC 651 Traveling Iron in two following places:

    ROZNICA
    Одесса, Сегедская, д. 23.
    price: 345 грн.

    it-sales.com.ua
    Одесса, Прохоровская, д. 28, офис 408
    price: 373 грн.

Probably these shops can also offer some other models.
I would prefer to use an iron without a shifting or rotating holder (without any moving parts). In this case there is less possibilities to broke it. It looks bigger than those with folding holders, but actually it will not occupy too much space in your baggage.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

    ROWENTA DA-1510 F1

Thank you so much! I'll confirm when I've bought one; sounds like there should be no problem at all.

May be the most simple way is just to ask locals to point a good shop for electric irons (household techniques = бытовая техника). They should sell travel irons too.

The hotel that I am staying at will not let guests borrow an iron, but want guests to use their maid service. I hate such nonsense as maid service at hotels and it's a lot cheaper, faster and more convenient for me to do my own ironing.

Really irritated - it's the first time that's ever happened to me while travelling. I really need that travelling iron in case this is some kind of general policy on hotels in this part of the world.

@CoffeeCup, the links that you posted are not working -- but I found the location on the map.
Is this definitely a real shop? Not the address of an internet business... ?

I am going to see if I can find a store in the MeraMax chain.

    Stupid hotel!!

This is what I was afraid. The "Yandex Market" service is too smart and try to get your real location and rebuild any page with respect to that.

These two links: The second one is definitely an internet service, and maybe does not provide selling on hand. The first one - I don't know, I've never been to Odessa.

PS I've just checked the Yandex Market for Odessa region once again and It does not show these two shops for this travel iron any more.

The simplest way is just to ask locals for any nearest or the the most popular shop for electric irons. It would certainly sell travel irons too.
