    Use of на in Time Expressions

    Hi everyone!

    Are all four of the following sentences acceptable and do they convey the exact same meaning?

    Мэри будет в Киеве неделю
    Мэри будет в Киеве oдну неделю
    Мэри будет в Киеве на неделю
    Мэри будет в Киеве на oдну неделю

    It is the same. Well... almost. That is exactly the same difference as in English between "a week" and "one week."

    Мэри будет в Киеве на неделю. Wrong.
    Мэри будет в Киеве на oдну неделю. Wrong.

    Мэри приедет в Киев на неделю. Mary will come to Kiev for a week.

    The latter construction works only with verbs of motion.
    "Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

    Я останусь на неделю.
    Я брал в аренду на два дня.

    btw. i would like if you translate it to english, 'cause i hardly can do it. =(
