is there an English-Russian dictionary on-line where you can hear how the Russian words are pronounced?

It looks like there is no dictionary with at least transcription of Russian words ( however some of them have marked stress, e.g. теАтр. Challenge )Originally Posted by rainbowworrier

Well... All audio recording there seems to be synthesized from native(?) speaker recorded fragments, pronounced thru nose. The main trouble is a lot of words with misplaced stress ( жульЁ, жУжелица, гнЕваться, обороноспосОбность, винегрЕт, винительный ( wrong stress always, probably derived from primary word forms ( гнев, спОсоб, etc ) )
As long as it is synthesized speech, if they have some syllable pattern recorded in some incorrect way ( eg стул, стол, вол all with weird 'л' ) this is forever.
Vowels without stress are always ( as I could check ) reduced correctly,
if they did not misplaced stress itself.
English pronunciation seems to be syntesized as well, but it is done using existing transcription, whilst there is no thereof for Russian.
Russian is tough, let’s go shopping!
