Thread: Help me with sending Russian alphabet

Hello, Привет!

I am using MSN hotmail.co. jp (Japan's domain) but the Russian alphabets are broken I typed when they arrived at my friend's domain @mail.ru.

How can I do for that?
As long as we use these domains, Russian alphabets are always broken?

And my friend says he can read my Japanese, also I can read his.

Be sure that enconding of your messages is Windows-1251 or KOI8-R

If you are using Hotmail from Internet Explorer then try the following:

Click on "Compose tab", address the message and fill in the "Subject" line
Before composing the message, click on "Tools" (next to "Copy message to sent folder")
Click on "Rich-text editor OFF" to set off
NOTE: The toggle is actually counter-intuitive. That is, if the drop menu choice says "Rich -Text Editor OFF" RTF formatting is on. When the toggle shows "Rich -Text Editor ON" RTF formatting is off.
If you receive a pop up message "Are you sure you want to do this?" Click "OK" and wait for text formatting tools to disappear
NOTE: If you are using Netscape, then you will NOT be given the the choice to turn ON/OFF RTF formatting. Messages will be sent in plain text format.
Compose your plain text message
Send your plain text message

You also might want to make sure that Russian is enabled in the Language Preference of your Internet Browser.

It seems that I need CD-ROM to install a Russian package into my window 2000 first anyway before I do what you told me to do, changing encord and using rich-text..
Though I'm using XP at my office, Russian characters are OK on my friend's screen if I send email from it.

Surely I'm going to install soon. If I got a trouble about sending Russian characters after that, please help me again. I will post here.
