Although it is currently under assault by the MPAA BitTorrent is the *best* protocol for downloading large files over the internet.

azureus.sf.net -- this is the website of a free open source bittorrent client
isohunt.com -- search engine to find .torrent files(to open in azureus)
torrentspy.com -- search engine to find .torrent files(to open in azureus)
bittorrent.com -- new search engine to find .torrent files(to open in azureus) [ this engine was designed by the creator of bittorrent, supposed to be *very* good]

you download .torrent files from websites who distribute them, and then you open those .torrent files in your BitTorrent client(I suggest Azureus).

    other good client(bittorrent): BitComet
GNUtella: Limewire, others can be found at gnutella.com
MUTE: I have heard good things about this anonymous P2P network...but I have not personally tried it.

All of these protocols were originally designed to help distribute legal goods and or services, what you use them to download is up to you.

I've never paid for any software! Well, I write software, so usually I can get it for free... If not, Limewire knows where to find it...
Please, call me Ding Dong, that is my preferred name.

We, Russian criminals, prefer WinMX and eDonkey.

Seems like my post was censored for sharing criminal stuff.

Yup, you can openly announce your plans to assasinate the president, but you're not allowed to use the name of certain file sharing programs!

    Hi Saibot / others

I dont have a dictionary yet. Is the Harper collins dictionary you recommend the talking dictionary for the computer or is it a paper version dictionary? Scott

    I'm pretty sure it's a paper dictionary.
If you want a good online translator, look for "IM Tranlator Prompt" in google, and you can find one that's a plugin for Internet Explorer. It's about the best I have found, and you can bring it up like a program, instead of going to a website...
