Hi
i started learning russian today and i dont know where to start . i know know how to read and write the alphabet and know some simple words:
dog
yes
no
hi
good morning
so what do i do..i dont know any sites or any books i got an english-russian/russian-english dictionary but that didnt help either so please recommend anything (sites, books, etc..) and if u have a program please send it to me by email gipath@hotmail.com and add me to ur msn list if u can so we can chat please.and how long did it take the people who are not native to russia ukraine etc... to know the russian language and can read russian teen books.
so i wish i can have some help from the people who know

well not really, but you understand. but, be warned, the most frsterating thing i think u will run into is the changing words. for example. "грусть" - this word means sad. but you will see things like "лечит от грустного", or "я грустный" this will probly piss you off extremly at first, like it did to me, but as long as you can regognizethe root word, your doing good. also, nouns can be turned into adjectives descirbing other nouns, which gets a little crazy, for example весна - spring новая весна - new spring. but, if you want to say "Spring wind" it is "весиний ветер" the noun "spring" becomes the adjective "spring". so, as you can see it is best to try to learn grammar as soon as possible. but, as long as you know alot of words, at first, it's not a big deal at all.
