Great website for Russian (and other languages)

A good resource for all languages. (maybe this is old news to everyone. I'm always behind the times)

    www.phrasebase.com

The Russian forum has an administrator named Anja. She's a very dedicated teacher. She runs classes live with video and audio. It was on 4 hours ago from now. So for me it's about 11am Sat. morning (Australian time). Someone else'll have to convert it to other times. I'm dim.
(I think many languages have a class time, too)

It's a very cosmopolitan site. There's an administrator for every language (at least most languages). There's great networking with each other. You get to see all the languages the members are good at (using a five star system), and what ones they intend on learning. A forum, and other things for learning. Loads of fun.

One problem- it's pages load up VERY SLOWLY INDEED!

I go by the name "Ulven", incase you're interested in seeing how amazingly interesting and charming I am in my posts there.

I don't understand how to use it. I clicked on the Russian classroom and it just took me to a regular chatroom.

The really weird thing is that there are pictures of Asian people all over the site, but there is no Mandarin Chinese classroom.

You have to pop up in that chatroom at the right times. The forum has a heading down the page "Phrasebase Website". Click on its sub-heading. "class schedules". They're always trying to find times compatible with as many people as they can. There's only one Russian teacher to go around. So, timing, Pravit, timing. I'm trying to catch the class too. The Russky Admin. just posted an International Time-zones map to help know the time conversion for your place. They mention the times in GMT. Confuses the hell out of me. But if you're passible at deciphering time-zones, you'll be fine.

As for the Chinese people in the photos! Other people ask about that. They're the friends of one of the administrators. He lives in Asia. The intention was for members to send pics of themselves as a forum photo album, but it didn't seem to catch on. So it's just his friend that are in the album.
