I have created a useful Russian alphabet tool that you can download free from here:

This alphabet tool installs to your windows desktop.

Keyboard characters
Hand written letters
And when you click on a letter you will hear how it sounds.

Thanks for the help it really helps. Before I was just looking at the letters with no real way of knowing how they sounded. Thing about Russian is I just assumed a sounded like a in my own alphabet.
