Thread: alright, i have a problem

i have the new penguin russian course for beginers, and it is excellent, but i am lacking in the pronunciation department. is there any resources available to learn the pronunciation.

and for the record, i dont have access to russian radio, tv, or even russian speakers. so yeah. am i screwed?

You can certainly listen to many pronuncation resources online. I think there are some at this website that most MR users are rather unfamiliar with - http://www.masterrussian.com/ It's run by a native speaker of Russian, so have no fear. As for radio, you can listen to it at http://www.bbcrussian.com/ Even better yet, someone on this website mentioned Russian broadcasts read SLOWLY along with transcripts, vocabulary, and quizzes, which would have been a great help to me a year or two ago had I heard of it. As for TV, someone mentioned being able to watch it on WinAmp, but if you're like me and you have dialup it'll probably be too slow to bother with.

He'll call you on the telephone and work with you on the net. Definitely contact him if you need one-on-one oral practice.

go to amazon.com and check out "pronounce it perfectly in russian". it's an audio course with a book that teaches you correct pronounciation as well as vocabulary.
