    Reputation Power

I have activated the Reputation feature. There is a small badge under each post that allows you to approve or disapprove posts. You may use this feature when you find it fair to affect the reputation of other users.

You must have 50 posts before you can approve/disapprove the posts of other people.

Reasons to Approve posts (add points):

    Helped me
    Made me smile
    Answered my question in full

Reasons to Disapprove posts (deduct points):

    Aggressive post
    Bigoted attitude
    Offensive joke

    Etc

Is there any way to see who and why approved or disapproved my posts? I was unable to find this information though I know that vBulletin has this feature. On other forums the list of reputation changes is available in user's control panel.
Send me a PM if you need me.

It's explained in FAQ MasterRussian.NET FAQ

How do I know what reputation I have received?

You can view the reputation that you have received in your User CP (User Control Panel) where it is displayed at the bottom of the User CP page. Here you will see the latest reputation that you have received and whether this is positive, negative or neutral. Your total reputation will be shown as series of reputation indicators in your posts and profile. The more positive your reputation, the more positive icons will be shown. The more negative your reputation the more negative icons will be shown.

Maybe it's a dumb question but where is the link to User CP? If it's in My Profile section then there isn't.
There's no such link in the Settings section either.
Well, I suspect that this is called 'Settings' but it doesn't show there. Presently I see my Rep Power to be 8 and I wonder where did it come from?

I have come across a similar feature in another forum, but most people don't really understand how it works, or simply give max points to whoever makes a political or religious comment that they agree with.

Should be interesting having some more political debates with this new feature. I virtually stopped using that forum because I felt I was wasting time, and because some really idiotic posts and comments were made. But it was really nice and interesting for a while. I learnt a lot.

In a way it's nice to be able to vote anonymously for a post but on the other hand it could be nice to know whether who disagrees or approves with what you are saying.....

PS - I like MasterAdmins "Yoda-like" Thank You message for giving positive feedback. Plus I have finally figured out your original nationality MA! There is one too many "the" in your post I thought you were American, lol!

Your are correct, here is the link, yet I don't see it where it says it will be:
    http://masterrussian.net/usercp.php

You can view the reputation that you have received in your User CP (User Control Panel) where it is displayed at the bottom of the User CP page.

The CP link http://masterrussian.net/usercp.php Does it show any Reputation rewards for you?

I see Hana gave me a point saying "Yes that was interesting (just testing the feature)"

The internal comments may be funny when running political debates

I'm also thinking of adding another feature where users can thank, like and dislike posts and this activity will be for everyone to see.

The basis is one point up or down. But Rep Power is awarded more from more experienced and loyal users. Here's a breakdown we have at the moment:

    - For every 1095 number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power (I had to set this high because we have users who registered looooong time ago)
    - For every 1000 number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power
    - For every 100 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power
    - A user have 50 points before his/her reputation hits count on others
    - How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period: 10
    - How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again: 5

Nope, just User Notifications and Subscriptions
It should be there because I see it on other forums, but not here. That's why I asked about it.

Ramil has the highest reputation of anyone, even higher than MasterAdmin!

I think people could get rewards for improving their language skills in Russian and English too!
It's probably hard to implement a feature for that, but it sure would be nice recognition.

I have noticed that some Russian people have improved their English over the time that I have been a member.
Likewise I have improved my Russian!

An established and reputable user rewards more points compared to a novice. If I award someone points it will be 5-8 points vs. 1 point from a new user. I could set any amount of points for myself but I don't mind following the same rules as everybody does. After all, my role includes administration and that can't be measured by Rep Power

Also, you should now be able to see who awarded the points and what comments they left. I activated that feature.

Not completely related, but I was thinking about how reputation then gets related to what the majority opinion is. That leads on to something else: I am curious of the stats are for this site!

Are you able to say anything about it? I mean, are most visitors, from North America, Russia, CIS countries.... Europe... or elsewhere...?

The Rep Power is shown for each user below the post count. The Rep Power shows how many points you will leave/take away when you Rep someone. This number is based on how long ago you registered, how many posts you have, etc.

Your actual Reputation can be seen when you hover a mouse over grey/green/red bar under your username . The number of green/red bars also reflects your reputation level.

The reputation of all members can be seen in the Members List Member List - MasterRussian.NET

As you gain and lose reputation, you are associated with a moniker that describes your current level. These levels are:
< -50 - User is infamous around these parts
-50 - User can only hope to improve
-10 - User has a little shameless behavior in the past
0 - User received little or no reputation points at this time
10 - User is on a distinguished road
50 - User will become famous soon enough
150 - User has a spectacular aura about
250 - User is a jewel in the rough
350 - User is just really nice
450 - User is a glorious beacon of light
550 - User is a name known to all
650 - User is a splendid one to behold
1000 - User has much to be proud of
    1500 - User has a brilliant future
2000 - User has a reputation beyond repute

Also, if you don't see reputation in User CP it means you haven't received any Rep yet!!!
Maybe you guys should give each other some Rep points and comment them as "test". This way you'll be able to see the rewards in your CP.
I will then remove all "test" reputations after you've become familiar with how things look in your User CP.
