    Mike the Moderator Ceremony

As we all probably all know already, are precious, sometimes hateful(but I love him anyway)moderator has left. I know he can be a pain and the butt at times and I agree with Pravit that he was a bad moderator at times, but, I would like people to post their comments about Mike(good or bad). I wonder who can replace him, hopefully Pravit

It's only 2 days since Mike has left and you are talking about the replacement I think the time has not come yet to talk about it.
I've no doubt Pravit would be a great moderator, but it's difficult for me to imagine someone but Mike on that place. I still hope that he will return. Let's have a little patience.

As for comments, it's a good idea, maybe they will boost his returning. I've already made my comment http://masterrussian.net/mforum/view...?p=14432#14432, of course I could add something, but I don't think there's any need.
But one thing I will add nevertheless: He is a charismatic person.

I understand that, Friendy, but I don't think he is coming back, it has already been said that he banned himself permantly. What does charismatic mean?I'm trying to give a new thinking to the English language by using these so-called context clues or whatever

I think MasterAdmin closed the other "Mike-related" thread for a reason. What needed to be said about Mike was said and I don't think we should bring it up again...but oh well. I've already said everything negative I wanted to say about him in the other post, so I'll put a can on that for now. As for the good, I remember that he could be really funny sometimes(without offending anyone). He was also helpful in providing an authoritative insight on some discussions(especially when you reach that point where everyone's like "I've got no clue" he would sometimes pop in and tell us about it). And I've heard he had a lot of stuff to do behind the scenes(though of course we wouldn't know about it). Let's hope the forum will keep running smoothly even in his absence.

As for a replacement, I agree it is a bit early to be talking about that sort of thing. And I'm sure MasterAdmin has got a good enough handle on things that he doesn't need any extra help yet. At any rate, I don't think I'm going to be considered to take moderator anytime soon(given it's hard enough trying to get myself a special title )

Oh by the way Friendy, love your sig I'm a big ABBA fan myself...

    To noch'-provodnik:
Charisma (from the Greek word charis) - an ability to charm or influence people, the ability to attract the attention and admiration of others, and to be seen as a leader.

That was from the dictionaries on the web, but I think I've heard more beautiful definitions of it. I'll add only that such charm and abilities are often illogical and irrational, that is to say, cannot be explained from the point of common sense.

Maybe he won't close this thread as long as it remains friendly and respectful (as it is now ).

Thanks. Glad to hear it. I am a huge fan too.
What's amusing(and sad at the same time) about mentioning sigs in threads is that when the sig is changed it can mislead the readers. But … there have to be some mysteries.

This forum is already really orderly and everyone behaves in a respectful way to others, without a moderator having to close down too much threads, like in other forums. I don't think we actually need a moderator. But if it is needed, Pravit could be one.Or I could.

In Russia they were even selling copy-books with A-Teens on the front page (I was shocked when I saw it) , but no copy-books with real ABBA . I understand of course, ABBA isn't very popular in Russia at present time (at least among those who are the main consumers of copy-books), but it seems neither are A-Teens.

Once when I was a teenager this girl who lived near me devoted an entire weblog to how much she hated me. That was fucking awesome.

Oh by the way Friendy, love your sig I'm a big ABBA fan myself...

Isn't that the song that was popular in the Coca-Cola commercials during previous Olympics?

But I believe the Coca-Cola version goes like this:

I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony......

    Does anyone recall that commercial?

Unfortunately. When I was a child I had a paperboard music box that played this song.

That Pravit's comment was refering to my old signature. The current song is not by ABBA, it's The New Seekers. And yes I read about that commercial but haven't seen it. I like The New Seekers but this song I like more as peformed by Ray Connif's orchestra.
