    Help us create a FAQ

We would like to create a Russian Language FAQ based on the discussions in this forum. It will be located at http://masterrussian.net/mforum/faq.php instead of the Technical FAQ that resides there at the moment.

If you are interested to help, please post your Question and Answer in this thread. For example:

Q: How do I type in Russian on my WindowsXP computer?
A: Blah-blah-blah. Also check out this discussion http://blah-blah-blah

    Thank you!

Well, now that Mike's mentioned it, I suppose we can help the FAQ with how to type in Russian. I think you should make it a sticky and post it right in General Discussion. I just now noticed that tiny little button up there that says "FAQ."

    How to type in Russian

    For Windows XP:
    1) Hit start, "Control Panel"
    2) Double-click on "Regional and Language Options"
    3) Click on the "Languages" tab
    4) Click "Add"
    5) Scroll down and select Russian, then hit OK until you're out.

    For Windows 98:
    1) Hit start, "Control Panel"
    2) Double-click on "Regional and Language Options"
    3) Click on the "Languages" tab
    4) Click "Add"
    5) Scroll down and select Russian, then hit OK until you're out.
    6) Click on "Keyboard"
    7) Click "Add"
    8) Select Russian
    You're done.

I can't remember but you might need your Windows discs when you're doing this.

I believe I'm right in saying that the vast majority of people will indeed need their Windows discs, 'cos Russian isn't installed by default.
I guess the FAQ entry for that should include the various links that exist somewhere on this website for Russification.

    Maybe this will help:

Q: I've made a double post. What should I do?
A: If you made a double post you can delete it easily (until someone else posts after it in this thread). Look at your post. In the right upper corner of it you can see three buttons, click on the button with "x" on it (the most right button) to delete the post.

Thank you for all your input. We have enough Q&As. I added them to the FAQ page: http://masterrussian.net/mforum/faq.php#1

About officializing my FAQ, no problem, but I can update my own site a lot more quickly and will probably keep my own site up. You might have to check back every now and then to see if there's a new question, if you want to officialize it. By the way, I just did a big update on the unofficial FAQ, although I'll be gone for over a month when I leave next week. Perhaps you'd like to simply link to the FAQ? I'm a bit silly in some parts of the FAQ and wouldn't like seeing it become cold and proffesional - you'd have to get rid of a lot of the parts where the Prince's voice shines through.
