Hi Im new here. Just thought I'd leave a little Flash I made to see what Russian People think about it.

It has sound.

What exactly do you expect to hear?
Is it some kind of vodka commercial?

Anyway, there's some mix up between the flag and the anthem,
which kinda kills the idea. Use either the old Soviet flag or the new
anthem.

Hi Shifty. I'm no fan of commercials. But, I can see past it and acknowledge your artistry. Your fading in and out visually is well done. I liked it. Like a film promo. And the sound is good. I think the bottles swaying went on a touch too long, time-wise. There'd need to be something in the background going on to break the monotony. Or, you could have the bottles distant and in black and white to begin with, whilst Russian soldiers are upfront. And the bottles gradually get closer and fade into colour when the soldiers have past.
Anyway, despite my disinterest in advertising, as an artwork I liked it.

An important consideration-
I'm not Russian, but the thing I wonder about is the usage of military imagery. I can't speak with any surety, but I'd assume it's something a Russian would want to dis-associate from. (I'm open to being corrected on this point). Even socialism believers wouldn't neccessarily be fans of the way old Russian aristocracy went about using (or abusing) that system. So, this imagery may be a sore point for many Russians. But, I'm an apolitical Aussie, so I've an outsiders view, and am a little uneducated about this kind of imagery as seen through a Russian's eye.

If you wanna go that way, I'd say the whole idea is totally ridiculous
for a "Russian eye". These associations are completely western.
No normal russian will think of Kremlin or Red Square or whatever when
drinking vodka. Vodka is a symbol of having a good fun, not some
political sh*t.

The Trotsky sentence
The mausoleum
The foreign vodka

Possible variants() :

1 The modern ahthem, the modern flag, new big church in the heart of Moscow and Putin sentence and sneaky pete.

2 The Soviet anthem, the Soviet flag, mausoleum and some Soviet leader phrase (not Trosky) and Stolichnaya vodka

3 The tsar anthem, the tsar flag, some monument or building from Saint-Petersburg a quotation from some tsar speech and your smirnoff vodka

I wouldn't expext many Russians would think too much of it but I think that brett's comments on this are valuable for American advertising. And use another song.

Thanks for the feedback. And sorry I didnt realize that Russia had changed its National Anthem. Im not even Russian and I love this Anthem, I dont know what the words mean but it sounds great. I like it better than my National Anthem .

Well, the big СОВЕТСКИЙ СОЮЗ (Soviet union) could give it away that it's no longer russia's national anthem. But i guess since you can't understand russian it's not your fault. But yes, this song is no longer even in service to any country in the world. Unless you want to make your own country and make it your anthem.

I'm either not Russian, or am 1/4 Russian if I am adopted, but and anyway...
I went to the liquor store a while back and there were like 50 brands of Vodka... I wanted russian vodka so I investigated all the labels and was like wtf... one. one was russian.... I don't remember which, but if your interested in russian drink, check that it's not bottled in kentucky or something. I asked the store keeper, wtf? She didn't believe me that only one was bottled/made in russia. I made her look at the labels.

What is the brand/type of tea that is mainly drunk in russia? I'd like to try some. I know there must be a food store around here some where and hope that I don't have to drive to Seattle for it.

well i doubt that you'll find anything similar to that tea brands that are really drunk here ...you know, India is one of the most important strategic partners since old good times of SU ...so there is an outstanding amounts of weird cheap brands of tea ...brought directly from India and packed in Russia..named in russian of course
same for chinese tea and ceylon tea
