I love the flights. I wait for the next time I could see the Earth from the above and the clouds right around me.

Нее. В том году я летал с пилотом на мотодельтаплане над Крымом. Через неделю я буду в Крыму и, надеюсь, снова полечу. Километр с лишним над землёй. Ужасно красивое море и горы. Если хватит духу, сяду в планер на мёртвую петлю.

Today I volunteered at NASA and they had this neat demonstration of the Bernoulli principle of airflight. The principle is that motion of air reduces the air pressure. This means that if you have fast air over the wing, the higher pressure below the wing will press it up, causing air-lift. I guess it is one of the basic principles of airflight. Anyway, the demo is this:

Take a hollow tube and a ping-pong ball. pierce the tube with a stick or something so that the ball can rest on the stick, while allowing air to come from beneath. Take a hairdryer and blow over the top end of the tube. This will cause the pressure to drop and the high-pressure air below it will lift the ping-pong ball and send it flying! It was pretty cool, and you can do it at home
