    Pardon my French...

вчера вечером мы с моей женой говорили, и она описала кого - то, кто сделал её сердитой как 'идиот', затем добавила 'прощение мой французский язык' .

Я смеялся потому, что я думал, что она перевела английскую фразу, но она сообщала мне что Российские люди также говорят это как этот, в том же самом контексте.

    Так что мой вопрос;

кто знает то, что французские люди говорят в той же самой ситуации?

пока путь, пожалуйста исправьте любые ошибки, которые я сделал. Мой русский обычно плохо так или иначе, но сегодня я должен был предположить некоторые из слов потому, что у меня очень маленький словарь здесь.

Вчера вечером я разговаривал со своей женой и она сказала, что кто-то рассердил её "как последний идиот" (I think, she said so), а затем она добавила "извини за мой французский".

..., но она сказала, что в России так говорят в подобных случаях.

    ...в таких ситуациях?

It's an expression, only. People say that before bad words will be said.

"Пока пусть" - I didn't get it at all.

Пожалуйста исправьте все мои ошибки. Мой русский не так хорош, но тем не менее я должен ... ??? ... потому что мне не хватает словарного запаса.

Yeah I know what it means, that was precisely the point of my post

It ammused and intrigued me to discover the expression was used exactly the same in Russian as in English. Since I've never heard of the French being particularly renowned for swearing, I was wondering (facetiously) what the French themselves say just before or after uttering a profanity (since they can't say 'pardon my French'). To be honest I was going to post the question in English in the Fun Stuff section, but I decided instead to see if I could manage it Russian instead. It appears that I fell as far short as I expected

Anyhoo... большое спасибо за вашу помощь. Some of the mistakes were stupid and I shouldn't have made them, some were down to my lousy grasp of grammar, and some were due to my limited vocabulary, not helped by the fact that, at work, I only have a really old pocket dictionary designed for Russian learners of English Either way, your corrections were really great, so thanks again.

Oh aye, don't worry about 'Пока пусть', it was a joke. It's a litteral translation of the phrase 'bye the way', but I forgot the smiley after I swtched my keyboard back into English layout.

Maybe it's "Excusez mon anglais" by anology with "take French leave"? But that's only a guess.

I never knew that such expression existed in Russian but I'm almost sure that it originated from English just as the mentioned "take French leave" (which is "уйти по-английски" in Russian) originates from French.

Then it should be 'Пока путь'.

lol, yeah, it's 'by' the way, not 'bye' the way

you know when I first read this post I was (w)racking my brains trying to remember, but there is an expression in French which uses 'Anglais' and refers to something rude or stupid.. oh well I probably 'blanked it out' subconsciously

Да, я тоже говорю в таких ситуациях: "Пардон за мой французский"
