Yes, just to clarify, they are synthetic voices.

Alyona is from the company Acapela.
Tatiana is from Ivona.

They are the most popular synthetic voices in Russian and if you have the software, you can get them to read an article or a book or anything else on your computer.

I use it sometimes for English, so I can do something else while listening to some article or book that is not available as audio.

The problem for me is: In English I immediately hear if something is wrong. In Russian I might not realise it. So I was wondering which is more reliable.

If you're looking for reliability, then niether of those two is a good choice, at least for another couple of years.

Обе программы примерно на одном уровне. Это уровень иностранца, свободно говорящего по-русски, или эмигранта, долго прожившего за границей.
