Thread: Recording help from Russian-natives for a Russian teaching project

Hey guys, I need a little help from Russian natives... I have this project in experient stages, Russian teaching via storytelling, and I could use 1 male and 1 female (or more) to record all the voices. The document is here:

(Thanks to calabi for fixing my grammar)

Every colour is a different voice. The black text of the storyteller is not for Russians I got that part covered.


Red: Female voice #1
Dark green: Female voice #2
Blue: Male voice #1
Purple: Male voice #2
Light Green: Male voice #3

You can announce first which voice you're planning to record so there won't be any duplicates.

"Ты не любишь говорить, ха?" It's not coloured text but I'd say here: А ты неразговорчивая. I said to her.

I think, "Давай...возьмём все драгоценностей и убираемся отсюда!" It'll be sound more like order if you write it like: Берём все драгоценности и убираемся от сюда! Всё остальное поджечь!


"Мы сбежим до горах, потом разобьём лагерь." = Добежим до гор, и разобьём лагерь. or Мы сбежим в горы, и разобьём лагерь.


"Далеко? Тогда добро пожаловать на северный земель!" = Из далека? Тогда добро пожаловать на северную землю!

"Я Ралф, это Лера, а вот Крыс." = Я Ралф, это Лера, а это Крыс.


"Все под укрыто!" = Все под укрытие!

"Что это была? = Что это было?

"Думать не думать... вот один." Думала, не думала ... вот один.

"Надо их предопреждать," = Их надо предупредить.

"Надо поспешить" it's Ok, but I think, "Надо спешить" will be better.

Запад....Иди западу! = Запад.... Иди на запад!

He's supposed to have bad Russian, not necessarily grammatically wrong but very basic. I think a word like "неразговорчивая" is a little outside of his realm yet.

EDIT: UPDATED THE DOCUMENT

"Нас наступают" is not correct. It should be "на нас наступают", or better "нас атакуют".
"Освободите мои руки" - it's better to say "освободите мне руки".
"Я из делако - is it a typo?
"Все под укрытие" - I would say "все в укрытие.
"Это дракон, никакое сомнение" - should be "Это дракон, никаких сомнений"
"Надо сбежать" -wrong, should be "надо бежать"
"Слишком поздно, он нас видел" - it would be better to say "он нас увидел"
On the last page You extensively use the word "надо". It will be better if you diversify these phrases somehow. For example, you can say "будем сражаться".

"Освободите мои руки" - it's better to say "освободите мне руки".

True, but the idea here is that the person speaking is not a native speaker, so it's ok for him not to speak perfectly (yet!).

I summed up the text that needs recording to make it easier. Could use help with the following...you can pick any character. You can even do two different voices if you can. Would appreciate anyone who's willing to volunteer for recording

Female 1 (bandit)

Anyway... excellent If I could get a volunteer to record the male speaker native Russian lines (male 1, male 2 and/or male 3) it'd be also great

I'll work on it tomorrow with the editor software...it's 23:30 in Israel and am getting weary

When I have all the recordings I'll post the final work here and on youtube

I tried recording today, but it was a hectic couple of days and my voice sounds like crap when I'm tired. Still looking for help with the Russian male lines. Anyone?

Yea I know my pronunciation lacks -- feel free to correct me by recording yourself saying whatever it is I mispronunced then I might actually use that audio in the editing software

The final version should have subtitles added to it and more sound effects and maybe even music. And yea... more native speakers

If you scroll a bit up you'll see all the lines that needs to be recorded are neatly ordered for anyone to have a go at it. I say do your voice to all the male voices (you can do a slightly different voice to each character) and put it on soundcloud and I'll edit the main file to put them in ASAP

Yes, the first dream is and it'll probably continue this way for a while. It is in fact inspired by whatever TV show or computer game the dreamer was watching before going to sleep.

That is what really delighted me. The voice really sounds as if a male has said all that stuff. Those sound editors are amazing, aren't they?

Amazing work cartoonsmaker! *bows* Love the manly voice... really sounds like badass mean bandits. Added it Who did the girl's voice? Very good work as well! Looks like the only missing components are male 3 and male 4 Awesome stuff.

I'll write part 2 in the meanwhile till I got Male 3/4 to finalize the "first dream" file
