Thread: Accent question x4

These are words that I have not been able to find a conclusive answer to in Gramota.ru or Wiktionary.org
Hope you can help!

Bудьте здоровы! (on "здоровы", where's the accent? I think the second O, but I don't want to take a chance and learn the wrong thing.)

В прошлом году (on "прошлом", where's the accent? Was I right about "году" - I checked gramota.ru but it listed two options.)

Двадцать дней без войны (Where is the accent on "войны" ? On "Ы" or?)

Он что-нибудь принесёт. (Where is the accent on "принесёт" ?)

On "Ё". It's "принесЁт".

Whenever you see an "ё" that's where the stress is.

That's right. Because "Ё" = "Й" + "О", so this combination will only sound as "yo" if stressed.

That's not exactly options. "Году" и "году" are two different forms of the word.

В этом году.
К этому году.

Yeah, of course....

FINALLY I recieved my Russian - Swedish grammar books today!!! So now I can read the grammatical rules in my own language (it just feel MUCH better than in English).

They had been out-of-stock for two months because this is the main book used in schools and the basic university course.

Apparently many more students than usual choose Russian as their second/third foreign language because Sweden's (only) astronout apparently went on national TV and said (among other things) that he recommended everybody who wants to be an astronaut to learn Russian! He's called Fuglesang and he just went to the International Space station and did a space walk, so he is INCREDIBLY popular in Sweden right now. So they had run out of all Russian books - due to the sudden demand. LOL!!! Lot's of hopeful astronauts!

One of the wonderful constants in Russian is that ё is always stressed. Someone realized that this was a little too easy for people learning Russian, so they decreed that no one was to ever write the dots. At least that's my theory.

Wowik, ничего себе! Даже русские не все знают. Нас ещё в школе учили что Ё всегда ударная. получается что не всегда. Очередное доказательство тому что не обязательно знать грамматические правила чтобы говорить правильно.

But the rule still stands in most of the cases (i.e. common Russian words). Кёнигсбе́рг, Э́ттёмёш, Ёрито́мо (who can be just as easily spelled as Йоритомо) are foreign names. "Четырёхча́стный" and "трёхкла́панный" are compound words (четырёх + ча́стный, трёх + кла́панный)..

Правило про всегда ударный Ё подразумевает, что в инностранных словах Ё не используется, а используется Йо (майор, майонез), но японские слова традиционно транскрибируются с использованием Ё, которая не всегда оказывается ударным.

В русских сложных словах на Ё может падать неосновное ударение (четырёхча́стный, трёхкла́панный).

В настоящее время Ё используют также при передаче венгерских, корейских, скандинавских имен и названий.

Дальше — больше, теперь отдельные слова из других языков тоже начинают писать через Ё (сёрфинги́ст).

Если говорить КёнигсбЕрг то буква ё произносится как Э после мягкого К`,но не как ЙО Так что правила сохраняются. Другое дело, что само слово иностранное, похожее на "Йогурт"
Ёритомо - произносится либо как йеритОмо либо как йОри тОмо. Тоже никаих противоречий
