Am I hearing the Russians around me wrongly or is the ть in both of these silent? So they’re like / pi-di-syat / and / shis-di-syat / ?
According to the consonant mutation rules, I think if the т was next to the д then the т would mutate to д anyway (so maybe they’re / pid'-di-syat / and / shisd'-di-syat /). But maybe having the ь in between stops the mutation happening?
Thanks in advance for any help.
