When I was a kid we used to walk around the neighbourhood on New Years Day and pick up all the un-exploded fireworks. Then the boys used them to do all sorts of very dangerous things, like exploding them inside a glass-jar etc...
I don't remember anybody getting seriously hurt, but I almost had a rocket hit my face once and ever since that, I am a bit scared of them.
Kids are like that. I used to burn and explode various things in my childhood. I was a fan of chemistry.

Ха! На новый год какие-то умники устроили фейерверк прямо перед ментовкой. Что было!! Море огня и грохота. Среди взлетающих ракет и рвущихся петард метались менты. Как они потом объяснялись начальству?
