NoOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Yushchenko came a shameful THIRD whith about 13% or something.

A party must have 50% to form a government. So even though Yanukovych's Party of Regions came first, it was short of the amount needed.

It was especially humiliating for Yushchenko because Tymoshenko beat him by a significant amount.

I thought you needed over 50%! I guess it is counted in number of deputies...

Yes, because

the Orange coalition was Hasha Ukrayina + Blok Yuliyi Tymoshenko + Sotspartiya = ~41%

Oleksandr Moroz of the Socialist Party (SPU) has been raitified as the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.

Apparently, if Yushchenko appoints Tymoshenko as prime minister and she gets ratified, it would force Yushchenko, Moroz and Tymoshenko into a de-jure coalition (the original Orange coalition, but Moroz would have a higher position than initially planned).

However such a move would be blocked by the Party of Regions, who want their leader Yanukovych to be PM.
