Lame, Ukraine! (Police raid on Demonoid.com)

Demonoid Busted As A Gift To The United States Government | TorrentFreak

The nightmare week for Demonoid has just reached a huge crescendo, with news coming out of Ukraine that following a massive DDoS attack the site has now been busted by local authorities. (...) a source in the country’s Interior Ministry says that the action was scheduled to coincide with Deputy Prime Minister Valery Khoroshkovsky’s trip to the United States.
Unbelievable! Ukraine is just as lame as Sweden was in 2006, wrt Pirate Bay. But it's a much bigger country and aligned with Russia, so what's the excuse?

Demonoid was probably the most internationally famous site operating out of Ukraine and now the whole lucrative data centre industry there will be threatened.

Ukraine had promised the United States that it would improve its attitude and efforts towards enforcing copyright and no doubt its Western partner will be very pleased indeed that Demonoid’s head has been presented on a platter.

But while Demonoid’s servers are in custody, the site’s admin does not appear to be. The ColoCall source would not say who is behind the site, only that its management is located in Mexico. The devil may yet be back….
But not out of Ukraine, probably. Plus, these sites tend to be run as hobby projects, so who knows how well backed up the site was, and how long it woud require to get it up and running again.

I am not talking about any union.
Let's stick with the topic if it interests anyone here.

Союз не только union, но и alliance.
    Союзники - allies.
    Они действуют в союзе.
