Yes. It is soup with cabbage and it has espesial sauerkraut taste. It has no gender, AFAIK, because it is used always in plural.

Actially, it is (was) feminine. Since the 1918 orthographic reform, the gender is of null importance.

Да, мне где-то встречалось "хорошая супа". Суп в давнее время был женского рода.
