щи is a Russian soup and word, right?
What gender is it?? :o
It is very atypical ending, и
Loan words ending on и and other atypical vowels (as спагетти) are undeclinable and considered as neuter. e.g. плохое спагетти.
Right?

Yes. It is soup with cabbage and it has espesial sauerkraut taste. It has no gender, AFAIK, because it is used always in plural.Quote:

В основном капуста, немного моркови, немного лука и мясо. Ещё зелени какой-нибудь можно добавить и сметаны...
Пора обедать. :)
Actially, it is (was) feminine. Since the 1918 orthographic reform, the gender is of null importance.Quote:
