Thread: С тех пор, (как?)

Когда должен я употребляю слово "как" в печениях "с тех пор, (как)", "до тех пор, (как)" и т.д.?

Ответите по-английски, пожалуйста. Спасибо.

If the point of reference is in the previous separate sentence, then you don't use как. Examples:

Три года назад я упал с балкона. С тех пор у меня часто болит голова.

Or you can combine them in one sentence

Три года назад я упал с балкона, и с тех пор у меня часто болит голова.

Compare with

С тех пор, как я упал с балкона три года назад, у меня часто болит голова.

If you use я упал с балкона after c тех пор without как, it'll be read as if you were falling off the balcony since then.

"в печениях"? What do you mean?

And both "c тех пор как" and "до тех пор как" are so-called "сложные союзы". "С тех пор как" = "since", "До тех пор как" = "until". Simple.

"в печениях" was ment to translate as "in the set phrases", but I wasn't sure what "set phrase" was in russian. That's what came up in my dictionary.

Interesting. I plugged "в печениях" into my online dictionary and it returned "in cookies/pastries"

I plugged "set phrase" into my dictionary and got "стандартная фраза"

Well I figured out why.

The word is речение.

"Речение" is an obsolete word. You can find it in old philology books, but now even philologists hardly use it anymore.
