с + genitive, с + accusative, с + intstrumental
Can anybody tell me if this is correct?
These examples were taken from my dictionary so I know they are right.
Use "c" + acc when comparing two objects.
Яйцо размером с яблоко
An egg the size of an apple (accusative)
Use "c" + gen when taking from an object.
сорвать с дерева.
To pluck from a tree (genitive)
Use "c" + inst when using an object as an instrument.
Я написал с ручкой.
I wrote with a pen (instrumental)
Here are my examples
The story was the size of a book.
История была размером с книгу.
I tore pages from the book.
Я отрывал страницы с книги.
I hit him with a book.
Я поражал его с книгой.
Are my examples correct?
Thanks in advance. :D

Я написал ручкой - lit. I wrote by pen like I came by train (instrumental, no need preposition here)
Я иду с ручкой - you cannot say I am going by pen, so here is c + instrumental.
I tore pages from the book.
Я вырывал, (prefix вы- means out,) страницы из книги - книга is not the same object like a дерево, you are tearing pages from "inside" a book but if there are some objects "outside" the book such as stikers on a book you отрываешь наклейки с книги.
I hit him with a book.
Я поражал его с книгой.
Я ударил/стукнул его книгой - lit. I hit him by book, see above, you can use "с книгой" if you had a book and you (both) hit him/bumped into him - я ударил его с книгой - natives, i know that it sounds a bit wierd without context but it is possible in spoken language.
Time expressions and compound plural personal pronouns
Also, when talking about time, с + gen. means "from" that time, the oppostie of "до" + gen., "until":
Открыт с семи часов до двадцати трёх часов.
Open from 7:00 to 23:00.
and that c + inst. is used for the equivalent of phrases like "My friends and I":
Мы с друзьями (not "Я и друзья") смотрим телевизор.
We with friends (not "I and friends") are watching television.
