    It can be used.
The form with по- is more colloquial, and it has a shade of meaning of ’a bit’. «Посветлее» — ‘a bit lighter’, «подешевле» — ‘a bit cheaper’.

    I’d say that ‘even louder’ was «ещё громче» or «ещё погромче». Just «погромче» doesn’t have this meaning.

BTW, I don’t understand the sentence

That's why I said "even louder" (still a bad way to express it, my bad). It's not quite "louder". I feel that it's "louder" and something more.

Yeah, you are right, louder and "a bit" sounds better.

    a tad louder/lighter/.../

    "У нас тоже что-нибудь подешевле "
This is a sentence I used.
I wanted to convey to the client the meaning:
"If you think this particular jewel is too expensive. We also have something cheaper".
I don't claim that is correct. Now I am thinking it more I think that: "У нас также что-то подешевле" is more correct
    Because in this context:
-- что-нибудь is translated as anything
-- что-то is translated as something
I just used it and I was wondering why I said подешевле instead of дешевле.
Чем больше слов, тем меньше они стоят.

when you answer a question: "У вас есть что-нибудь подешевле?" you must change "что-нибудь" into "кое-что".

Customer: У вас есть что-нибудь подешевле?
Seller: Да, у нас есть кое-что подешевле.
