Но это все, Дмитри -- на английском есть такая фраза "to drink like a fish." Как кто-то сказал ранее, это просто значит "пить очень много" (а также есть вариант для курения: "to smoke like a chimney"). К примеру:
-I saw John Doe today. Boy! He looks terrible -- he told me he has kidney problems!
-Oh, yeah. Well, that's not surprising since he drinks like a fish!

в основом, Бармчик придумал новую пословицу "пить как рыба", но в русском уже есть "to drink like a fish" - "пить как лощадь"

In British English, a fag means a ciggarette. To smoke a fag = to smoke a ciggarette.

By the way in Russian резинка has the same two meanings + chewing gum.
