Just as in a previous thread by me, would anyone be able to help with some simple, easy sentences with the word "любой", please? There are no good examples in any of my fave online dictionaries (Wiktionary, Slovar mail.ru)

Любой (человек) знает это. - Any person knows it. (Everyone knows)

- Какой чай ты будешь (пить) - черный или зеленый? - Which sort of tea will you drink, the black or the green (one)?
- Любой. - Either (of the two).

Я хочу выучить русский любой ценой! - I want to learn Russian at all costs.

Perhaps translationsnmru (awesome at translating ru - eng...) or a native English speaker can comment on this? Do you agree that the latter sounds better?

This confuses the translation/English meaning of любой а bit....
because it can mean different things that are represented by different words in English.

(I know this is a common Russian word and that my question might seem a bit stupid; but it's the multiple meaning that confuses it, and I want to make sure I really understand how to use this word. )

I checked the translation onto Swedish and that is a word that is a mix between "optional"/"free choice"/either. Not quite the same meaning as the English translation...

"at all costs", "at any cost", "at any price" - are all synonymically correct, meaning "любой ценой".
"ЛЮБОЙ" here is Feminine in instrumental case.

This is the same meaning but in English somehow it is used in different ways that makes things complicated. Think about it this way, Jo.

Это знает любой Алёша )))
