Yep. When my neighbour, a big fan of New Year holidays, threw up on my doormat I was ready to kill him, until he said this phrase. It's REALLY effective, if you can add enough sincerity to your voice. :)
Do phrases like боже мой!, бог знает, боже правый etc constitute blasphemy in Russian? Would Christians get offended?
