    Рука

Two questions about pука (while Spanish team is preparing to win the World Cup ). They deal with uses of word pука.
    1) держать себя в руках: means to autocontrol, to contain oneself?
    2) умыть руки : to wash one's hands, has in Spanish two meanings: the proper and literal and other: not to want to implicate oneself in something, like Pontius Pilatus did. It has also in Russian these two meanings? Or just the literal?
    Thank you.

    Yes, exactly.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

"Умыть руки" - not to want to implicate oneself in something
"Вымыть руки" - to wash one's hands

    Разве нет?
    В основном безвреден.

А кто находит это спорным? Судя по твоему вопросу - только ты.

"умыть/умывать руки" has only metaphoric meaning "to refuse one's responsibility". Literally "to wash hands" is "мыть/помыть руки".
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
