Words I don't understand how to use...

Hi, I'm gonna post in this thread once in a while about words that are simple but I just don't understand how to use (I'm a native English speaker... understand quite a bit of Russian)

If someone could maybe give some example sentences and/or short explanation exactly what the word is for... I'd appreciate it, thanks...

thanks, I had checked there already, but it didn't help me much... that is why I asked here, because I was hoping perhaps for some full sentence or phrase examples. I think I do understand how to use the first example they give and how to put it into a sentence, but not really the second.

There are five pages of examples on that link. Including complete sentences. And each entry of the word "мимо" is marked to be found easily.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

ah I was in the habit of only paying attention to the first section, because I had thought the rest of them were from technical dictionaries... oops... ) thanks
