    Pre-1918 spelling.

    Это значит, что текст был написан до реформы русской орфографии, проведённой в 1918 году. Обратите также внимание на "ъ" в конце слов, заканчивающихся согласным звуком. Также возможно, что текст был написан эмигрантами.

    Also, мир and мір, one meant world and the other meant peace, but since і was removed, now they're both written the same way.
