    Какое различние есть между слова "теперь" и "сейчас" ?

    In my opinion the word сейчас is composed of two words сей and час. I think сей means "this". ??

    A heck of a lot of things in modern speech are composed of obsolete words, which doesn't mean they sound ridiculous or something, even though their components alone do sound ancient.
    Мёд+Ведать=медведь

    P.S.Хотя есть не менее интересное разбиение: "медв" (медвяный=медовый) + "ед"(есть, поедать).

    They are sometimes synonyms.
    "сейчас давай спать"
    "теперь давай спать"
    "сейчас уже поздно об этом думать"
    "теперь уже поздно об этом думать"

    But, you should choose теперь when you imply "since now on" (something's just happened):
    А. "Теперь ты будешь ложиться спать вовремя"
    Б. Внутренний голос ковбоя подсказывает ему: "Это ещё не конец, плюнь вождю в лицо." Ковбой послушно плюёт. "А вот теперь конец", -- удовлетворённо замечает внутренний голос.
    В. "Ну вот, поели. Теперь можно и поспать".


    "Сейчас" is most popular answer to the request to do something.
    - Принеси лестницу, сынок!
    - Сейчас, папа!
    "Невозможно передать смысл иностранной фразы, не разрушив при этом её первоначальную структуру."

    Сейчас - популярный синоним к слову "ага, разбежался" (не буду делать то, что ты просишь).
