Thread: Vocab for crashed

How should I say: "Zoom crashed" - and can I use the same word for the computer (a complete crash): "My computer crashed".

Also, please, if possible - the word for 'hang'. "Windows is hanging. I can't do anything".

Ah, there are a lot of ways to say that, most informal. I'll give you a couple here:

Whenever an app crashes you can say:

Formal, kind of: Зум закончил работу с ошибкой. Зум вылетел на рабочий стол.

Informal: Зум отвалился. Зум упал. Зум вылетел

As for "hang", we usually say "завис" and it kind of works in both formal and informal, but it IS informal:

Мой компьютер завис, я ничего не могу сделать. Виндоус завис, я ничего не могу сделать. You can also say "висит", мой компьютер висит...

Formal would be "не отвечает"

Компьютер не отвечает, я ничего не могу (на нём) сделать.

As for when your OS crashes... Hmm, I'd just say that "Компьютер вылетел с ошибкой" or "Компьютер перезагрузился", also "Виндовс показал (синий) экран смерти"
