    Using Fasmer's Ethimological Dictionary

Trying to use this Dictionary I find two difficulties:
    1) a sign between т and г, but none of them. Which letter is it?
    2) it should be useful having a list of abreviations used, that I find nowhere. However this is a minor problem.
    Thank you.

See the pages below (click on them to see larger images).

Many shortenings are not in that list for some reason: for example near the word АБАТУР we see "вятск" (вятское), "ряз" (рязанское), "сарат" (саратовское), i.e. geographical names, an area in which a certain word is common. They probably were considered too obvious to explain.

Thank you for your interesting help however my "Ethimological" (I will cover my head with ashes and tear my clothes; [previously] I will put my old ones).
In the previous chapters I hope find the "mysterious" letter. Thank you again.

Если ты про этот значок в онлайн-версии словаря - ґ - то это знак ударения (гласная, после которой он стоит - ударная).
