    reveal from the ground

    Help with the following translation:
"Archaeologists have revealed/unburied from the ground two beautiful sculptures"
Even in English I have some issues
Чем больше слов, тем меньше они стоят.

    Археологи...

    достали (took, colloquial)
    извлекли (extracted, excavated)
выкопали, откопали (dug out, really funny and colloquial)

    из-под земли две прекрасные скульптуры.

My pickiness tells me "извлекли" is a neat option.
Another month ends. All targets met. All systems working. All customers satisfied. All staff eagerly enthusiastic. All pigs fed and ready to fly.

First time in my life I see: из-под
    What is this?

it means from beneath, under something.

here you can also safely say извлекли из земли.
из-под implies there was something above the sculptures, ground mainly.
if it's из-под дома - it means 'from under the biuilding'.

Often из-под can be met in grave news of a such kind:
    Из-под завалов в Турции спасатели извлекли 10-летнего мальчика -

    Also figurative sense:
Автобус ушёл из-под носа = I haven't caught the bus.
Lingvo gives "из-под носа - from under one's very nose"
