Whats the difference between что-то and что-либо? Thanks
Something, anything. Though, что - нибудь and что-либо are close synonims... нибудь is used way more.Quote:

Uhm, some places i guess. new pengiun clears it up, of course. I think its just like,
хочешь пить чего-либо. Do you want to drink anything at all? Or something. Better wait for some better advice.
Andi suppose in certain cases it could mean 'something' just like что нибудь can be "do you want something to ... do you want anythng to...." its more easily translated to english.
It sounds bookish to me. I'd say: будешь пить чего-нибудь? чего-нибудь будешь пить?Quote:

What do you think?
The word 'что-либо' seems bookish to me in any sentence. It's used not very often in spoken languge especially
Alright. Thanks
RDS, in your example, why is чего used? Same reason its used in ничего?
I think чего-нибудь is a little bit more informal. I'll give you a few examples so you can grasp it.
Дайте мне чего-нибудь ещё.
Хочешь чего-нибудь ещё?
Получи хотя чего-нибудь для начала..
Note that you can use что-нибудь in all of these examples as well.
OK, I think I'll just stick with что-нибудь. Whats the difference with что-то and кое-что?
In most cases "что-то" is something that you don't know about and "кое-что" is something that you won't to name
"Там что-то есть!" (I think there is a terrible hungry monster there!)
"У меня кое-что есть" (guess what it is!)
