    marriage

I remember that for women to get married is something like вишла замужем or замуж or something like that...

but how do you say the same thing for men?... all I know is the verb is женить

e.g. (to man) when will you get (are you getting) married?

also, if it is not trouble maybe someone can translate:

when will you get married to Katia?

    Re: marriage

when will you get married to Katia?

She got married early
He's not going to marry her
Sasha and Katya got married
He/She is married

    Re: marriage

    жена - wife
    муж - husband

Men become "enwifed", women "leave for the husband".

Traditionally in Russia woman leave her house and join husband's family.
"Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?

Yes, that of course! Sometimes it happens even nowdays. E.g. when I got married, my wife brought a load of pillows and blankets with her to my place .

Yeah, that's for sure! She is from Ukrainian village and such things are still common there. In the big cities this custom concidered archaic of course.

Yeah... can anyone explain what's those pillows and blankets are all about? I mean, when my elder brother got married, my mom saved a couple of new pillows and blankets for that occasion, and so did his wife's mom. Then they obtained a several good sets of those P&Bs in the wedding, and of course they couldn't refuse either of those. So the freshly married couple ended up with a pile of pillows and blankets they got nowhere to store! Was the intention that they should have started saving some of those P&Bs for their children as well?

The strength of a newly married couple's passion is measured in safe blankets left after the first night.
Weird that they don't offer sheets.
Another month ends. All targets met. All systems working. All customers satisfied. All staff eagerly enthusiastic. All pigs fed and ready to fly.
