    The form is correct. But not "настоящий", but "подарок".
    Right -- настоящий means "the present" as contrasted with "the past" and "the future" (like when you're talking about verb tenses). But подарок is "a present" in the sense of "a gift" (as in, "We gave him a shirt as a birthday gift").

    I guess it would be better to say that "настоящий" is an adjective (masculine) and "подарок" is a noun (masculine too).
