    Little word, big confusion

I keep hearing this word in rap songs...I'm wondering how it's being used:

    на улице типа ночь

...всё так на самом типа деле

иногда стоит включать голову выключать паранойю и быть типа кул

I'm guessing it's some kind of slang construction...

Just don't know what it contributes to meaning...

My apologies if it's fairly basic and I'm some kind of лоботряс

Nothing. Just something to keep the lips moving.
Words like that are called "слова-паразиты" (parasite words) in Russian. Some people tend to use them excessivelly, often it's a sign of poor language skills.

кроме того...как и сделать словоизменение этого слова? кажется, что словоизменения нет, чтоли?

In other words, if I butchered that question, it seems like words following типа should take the genitive. Hence kinda or kind of. Do they?

Please pay attention to the previous post, too, 'cos I'd like some examples of типа in spontaneous speech.

I tell Russians learning English that типа is the equivalent of the indefinite article "a".
    У меня типа Ролекс.
Versus канкретна, which is the definite article "the".
    У меня канкретна Ролекс.
    =:^)
Wow, man, like I really gotta split now.

I think you are correct. I don't remember where I've read explanation for Russian how to use "a" and "the".
    1. If you can say "типа something" then you can say "a something".
    2. If you can say "канкретна something" then you can say "the something"

    To Trzeci_Wymiar
It's true but it's joke. You should not use that word because it's not only "слово-паразит". "типа" means that person, who says, is related to some kind of order, which isn't honourable.

...and give up listen to rap

I think I've made a lot of mistakes. Correct me please.
Could you correct my mistakes, please.

Оно, типа, не может быть только артиклем. Его можно, типа, вставлять куда угодно, а ещё, вместо него, типа, можно подставить на выбор: "нах", "бл.", "ёп(и)ть" и т.д. без потери смысла.

Actually it's a joke about "new Russians", but it helps to memorize the difference between the articles, imho. В каждой шутке есть доля правды.
